The members of Meguriai Karuta Kai participated in the world championship of competitive karuta held in Otsu City in 2018.In addition to practicing competitive karuta, we are also making efforts to popularize "Kyogi Karuta" through demonstration activities at Japan Festivals in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

The Peking Kasasagibashi Karuta Club has been active in Beijing, China. Our club has held the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Karuta Tournament in Peking eight times so far. The club members have introduced Kogi karuta at universities, high schools, and Japanese language schools in China, and have also held practice sessions.

The Shanghai Takigawa Club has about 30 members (7 of them are Japanese). Practice of Kyogi karuta is mainly held at the Shanghai Pudong Japanese School. Some of the club members are experts, and some of them have won prizes in the World Championship of Kyogi Karuta held in Japan many times.

The Taiwan Karuta Club has about 45 club members. Practice is usually held at Soochow University, Tamkang University, and Ming Chuan University. In order to popularize competitive karuta in Taiwan, the club members hold promotional events and joint practice sessions at universities.

The Karuta France has about 20 members, including 2 Japanese. Among the club members, there are 7 expert players. Practice is held every Saturday at a facility in Paris (but currently practice suspended to prevent infection). The club members have participated in many the World Championship of Kyogi Karuta in Japan, and have won many prizes.

The Karuta Club München is located in Munich, the capital of the state of Bavaria in southern Germany near the Alps. There are currently 15 members in the club, and 3 of them are Japanese. Our club organizes "Karuta Tournament in Munich" and "Karuta Training Camp" to communicate with other karuta players in Europe.

The ELTE Hyakunin Isshu Karuta Club is based in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The club has about 15 members, including one Japanese. We have two expert players. We mainly practice Kyogi Karuta at the university. We have participated in the world karuta championships held in Japan, and some of us have won prizes.

The Ogura Karuta Club was founded in 2017 and has 15 members (all members are locals). Practices are held twice a week. We practice in the Japanese Club Center at Bina Nusantara University and in the tatami classrooms at Darma Persada University. In 2019, five club members participated in the world championship of competitive karuta in Otsu, Japan.

The Autumn Karuta Italia was founded in 2015 in Bergamo, Lombardy, Northern Italy. The club currently has about 10 members. Practices are held every Saturday at the KOKORO Association and the Italian association for Japanese culture. The club members have participated in the world championship of Kogi karuta in Japan.

The Mongolia Karuta Club was established in 2019 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. There are about 9 local club members. Practices are held irregularly at the Mongolia-Japan Youth Exchange Center (currently suspended). In March 2019, we held the first Karuta Tournament in Mongolia with the participation of local people.

The Karuta Philippines is a club that was just established this year (2021). Unfortunately, the club members have not played against each other directly due to the prevention of infectious diseases. We have about 77 members, all of whom are online members. Our club members also play against people from karuta clubs overseas using online software for Kyogi Karuta.

There are currently about 10 members in the Korean Karuta Club. We practice on Saturdays for about 6 hours from 12:00 to 18:00 (currently suspended). In addition to practicing with other club members, we have had a Kyogi karuta match with Anyang Foreign Language High School in Anyang City.

The Moscow Karuta Kai is a new club established in 2020. We practice every Wednesday and Sunday for about 3-4 hours. We participated in the first All-Russian Karuta Taikai in 2020 and the second one in 2021 (we were one of the organizing members of both tournaments).

The St. Petersburg Competition Karuta Club was established in 2014 and currently has about 12 club members. The club members practice every Friday in a room with tatami mats. As a publicity activity, we have been demonstrating Kyogi Karuta at various events.

The director of the Waseda Shibuya Senior High School In Singapore Caruta Club also serves as the director of the karuta club at the Japanese Association in Singapore. The club currently has seven members. We practice on the first and third Sunday of every month for three hours from 12:30 p.m. together with the Singapore Okinoishi Karuta Club.

The Singapore Okinoishi Karuta Club has 7 members, 3 of which are Japanese. We practice Kyogi Karuta for three hours on the first and third Sunday of every month together with the Japanese Association of Singapore members. We haven't participated in any tournaments in Japan yet, but we did participate in the first competitive karuta tournament held Singapore in 2019.

We are the Kyogi Karuta club at Waseda Shibuya Singapore School, an affiliate of Waseda University. The club currently has 14 members, all of whom are Japanese. Our club participated in the first ever competitive karuta tournament held in Singapore in 2019.

The Krungthep Karuta Club currently has about 40 members,12 of which are Japanese. We have participated in many karuta competitions in Japan and many of our members have won prizes. Our club has also participated in the Japan-Thailand exchange Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Bangkok Karuta Tournament every time since 2007. We also hold workshops to introduce "Hyakunin Isshu".

Initially we were helping to run tournaments and participating in practicesessions around Europe. Then, in 2019, we established the London Karuta Club. We usually practice in libraries and churches in London, the capital of England. The London Karuta Club also organizes an after-school karuta club at the London Supplementary School in Croydon, and helps to organize the annual Hyakunin Isshu Tournament, in an effort to spread the joy of karuta.

The Boston Nakamaro-kai is located in Reading, a town near Boston. Boston is a university town where many people live permanently after studying abroad. We started our activities in 2011 as a group of Japanese living in the U.S. and their children who love Japanese culture. The club currently has 12 members, half of whom are Japanese and half of whom are American.

Although the New York Karuta Kai has just been established, its president, Avery Henry, participated in the 2018 World Tournament of Competitive Karuta in Otsu, Japan. He also won the 4th Annual US Karuta Tournament in the D class division. Currently practice is suspended. We are planning to start again soon as members are vaccinated.

The Washington DC Inishie-kai is a club that practices and introduces competitive karuta in the Washington DC area. We currently have about 30 members, 11 of which are Japanese. Every year, we hold a demonstration of competitive karuta at National Cherry Blossom Festival held in spring. In January of this year (2021), we held the 4th All America Online Team Karuta Tournament.
